Piaget recently launched another ultra-thin perpetual calendar watch. I tease Piaget’s unique positioning in today’s luxury replica watches market. Despite Piaget’s excellence in both mechanical craftsmanship and design, this Polo series ultra-thin perpetual calendar watch is often not considered when competing with top brands such as Audemars Piguet, Bulgari, Vacheron Constantin, etc. For watch enthusiasts, this may be a good thing – they can own a unique and exquisite watch from a well-known brand.
On the other hand, other potential consumers may not even notice Piaget’s products and miss out because the collector community is less discussing these products on social media. Let’s take a closer look at the 18k rose gold and green dial Piaget Polo Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin watch (ref. G0A48006) that I handled today, which debuted at the 2023 Watches & Wonders exhibition.
That same year, the cheap fake Piaget also released another Polo Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin watch with a steel case and a steel bracelet. Both Polo watches come with interchangeable straps and come with a green rubber strap that matches the dial color. The steel version is $16,000 less than the 18k rose gold version. Both watches are high-end, powered by Piaget’s in-house “ultra-thin” 1255P automatic movement.
The Great Wearing Experience of Piaget Ultra-thin Watches
Before Bulgari entered the modern ultra-thin watch arena and began breaking Piaget’s many records, Piaget was one of the few luxury watchmakers to actively promote ultra-thin movements. Piaget’s problem was partly timing. When the brand reintroduced ultra-thin watches in the early 2000s, the market trend was toward large, chunky replica watches. When the market gradually regained interest in ultra-thin mechanical watches, Bulgari attracted a lot of attention for its ultra-thin designs, often “beating” Piaget’s records with even thinner designs. In fact, Piaget’s ultra-thin mechanical watches offer a superior wearing experience comparable to brands like Bulgari. However, Piaget has been much quieter in promoting its merits recently.
The 1255P automatic movement may not be the thinnest on the market, but it may be one of your favorite ultra-thin automatic perpetual calendar movements. Comprising 238 parts and measuring just 4mm thick, the 1255P is driven by a blue gold micro-rotor. The movement displays the hours and minutes and is equipped with a full perpetual calendar display, including leap year, leap month, date, and day of the week, as well as a small moon phase indicator at 6 o’clock. Although the movement lacks the second hand, this makes the dial more elegant. Copy Piaget has added circular stripes and beveled edges to this 3Hz movement with a 42-hour power reserve and designed small pushers on the periphery of the case to adjust the moon phase and calendar.
Piaget Polo Perpetual Calendar Watches Feature New 1255P Caliber
The layout of the 1255P’s dial is very attractive, with a Polo-style dial that makes clever use of space and maintains a simple feel. Even with the addition of a full ring of hour markers, dynamic hands, and all the calendar information, the dial still looks neat and tidy. The horizontal lines on the dial are Genta-esque but very well executed, making them impressive without being too busy. I also particularly like the cushioned dial inside the round case of the high-end replica Piaget Polo collection, which is eye-catching, practical, and timeless.
As for how thin this ultra-thin watch is, the 1255P movement’s 4mm thickness fits perfectly inside the 8.65mm thick and 42mm wide Polo case. Due to the narrow and thick lug structure, it feels more like a smaller watch when worn. It’s worth noting that the case is only water-resistant to 30 meters, perhaps due to the unique shape of the sapphire crystal on the dial. But I would have liked to see the super clone Piaget combine this sporty luxury watch design with 50 or even 100 meters of water resistance so that people can swim with it without worry. Especially when the counterfeit Piaget chooses to pair this watch with a comfortable rubber strap, higher water resistance is even more important.
My favorite piece of Piaget’s new Polo Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin Watch collection is the perfect blend of beauty and practicality for an unparalleled luxury experience. While it’s not technically the thinnest perpetual calendar watch on the market, that hardly matters when you slip this lightweight and comfortable Polo case on your wrist. The Piaget replica also equips this green dial and 18k rose gold watch with a green alligator leather strap, in addition to the green rubber strap.
Piaget has incorporated a lot of eye-catching design elements into this new Polo Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin 18k Rose Gold Watch making it a favorite. While it’s not perfect (does it really need to say “perpetual calendar” on the dial?), it’s extremely elegant looking and a less obvious but equally great choice over some of the more expensive competition on the market. While there are more affordable perpetual calendar watches on the market, few have the brand’s sophisticated style and unique appeal like the Piaget. The perfect replica Piaget Polo Perpetual Calendar (model G0A48006) is available in 18k rose gold with a green dial and is priced at $76,000. More details can be found on the Piaget official website.
