To celebrate the 25th anniversary of its popular Datograph watch, A. Lange & Söhne replica watches distributor has launched a new limited edition watch in solid gold with a beautifully engraved tremolo dial. Since 2011, A. Lange & Söhne’s “Handwerkskunst” series has symbolized the most exclusive and exquisite works of the German brand. This year, the brand launched this latest masterpiece at the Watches & Wonders 2024 exhibition in Shanghai. The limited edition Datograph Handwerkskunst watch is limited to 25 pieces worldwide.
The new A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Handwerkskunst (ref. 405.048F) is made of carefully crafted 18K yellow gold instead of the brand’s signature honey gold alloy. The watch has a diameter of 41 mm and a thickness of 13.1 mm, which is consistent with previous Datograph models. The iconic winding crown is flanked by a pair of chronograph pushers, located at 3 o’clock on the case, while an additional pusher for correcting the date is located at 10 o’clock. With sapphire crystals set into the dial side and the screw-down case back, the new Datograph Handwerkskunst is water-resistant to the same depth as the other Datograph watches, up to 30 meters.
The dial of the cheap fake A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Handwerkskunst is made of solid gold and polished black rhodium and uses an engraving technique called “tremblage” to give the surface a fine matte texture. Unlike the brand’s standard Datograph Up/Down style, which has a power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock, the new Datograph Handwerkskunst simplifies the design and omits this detail completely, creating a simpler and more elegant dial layout. To enhance the overall sense of balance, the chronograph sub-dial is slightly lowered, and Roman numerals are added at 2, 6, and 10 o’clock to fill the extra blank space. As in classic Lange design, the oversized brand’s iconic date display is located below 12 o’clock on the dial, while the gilded hour markers are mirror-polished and dazzling.
New A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Handwerkskunst Replica Watches for Collectors
The light grey rhodium subdials contrast beautifully with the black rhodium surface of the 1:1 A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Handwerkskunst. Unlike conventional dial designs, all hands and markings (including the tachymeter scale and numerals on the chronograph) are not simply printed on the dial but are raised slightly above the dial’s trembling surface. Details such as the gold hour markers and the frame of the date window are machined and applied to the dial as separate components, while all other elements that are usually printed are raised in solid gold. The engraver had to carefully avoid these raised elements when engraving the tremolo pattern on the rest of the dial to ensure the overall exquisite craftsmanship.
Powering the new replica A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Handwerkskunst is the brand’s in-house Caliber L951.8 manual-winding chronograph movement, which consists of 426 parts, runs at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz) and has a power reserve of approximately 60 hours. Like other A. Lange & Söhne movements, the 43-jewel Cal. L951.8 features untreated German silver for the dial and bridges, blued screws, black-polished chronograph levers, and rubies set in gold Chatons. The hand-engraved balance cock of the movement is a classic Lange feature, but the Datograph Handwerkskunst’s balance cock is not engraved with the delicate vines common on the brand’s standard models but is engraved in relief, presenting a more ornate and complex visual effect.
What Makes This Watch Unique?
The new A. Lange & Söhne Datograph Handwerkskunst watch is paired with a brown alligator leather strap, with gray contrast stitching on the side of the watch to complement the trembling gray tone used on the dial. Instead of a traditional pin buckle, the strap is equipped with a folding clasp made of 18K gold, which fits perfectly with the other external components of the watch. In addition, as a special edition limited to 25 pieces to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Datograph series, each watch is engraved with its unique limited edition number on the edge of the presentation box, highlighting its rarity.
As in the past, A. Lange & Söhne replica has not announced pricing for the new Datograph Handwerkskunst, although this is almost irrelevant because the limited edition of 25 watches will most likely be snapped up soon after release. Considering that this Datograph Handwerkskunst (reference 405.048F) is made of solid gold and features a hand-engraved dial, it is undoubtedly an extremely luxurious timepiece. Based on the pricing of other watches from the brand, it is expected that its price will reach six figures. Although the Datograph Handwerkskunst may not be Lange’s most complicated watch, its simple display layout is more elegant than similar products. It remains to be seen whether this simplified design will appear on future standard Datograph watches. For more information about the A.
